If you are like most musky anglers, you've dealt with days, weeks, months or maybe even years without catching a musky. Those times can be extremely frustrating and can make you want to sell your gear and start bass fishing or maybe take up golf instead.
But what if I told you there is a better way? A proven methodology that can help you consistently put more muskies in your boat. Well, there is...it's just most musky guides won't tell you.
I learned this methodology and approach the hard way. I've spent literally tens of thousands of hours on the water. I've caught muskies in every condition possible as both a professional angler and guide.
So why am I sharing this hard earned knowledge? It's very simple...My guide service has been booked solid for years and want to help more people enjoy musky fishing.
One of the best parts of my job is helping people fulfill one of their dreams. Whether that is catching their first musky or getting their new personal best. This course is designed to help you have success on the water.
You now will be able to learn the skills and methodology that before had only been available to my clients in the boat.
Hi, my name is Jeff Van Remortel and I'm going to help you catch more muskies
I'm a professional angler and have been a full-time musky fishing guide for over a decade in Northern Wisconsin. I'm also a frequent contributor to Musky Hunter Magazine, I've presented at musky seminars and clubs across the country and have been on multiple musky podcasts. I'm fortunate to have caught thousands of musky and have a tremendous love and respect for this incredible predator.

New Personal Best from Musky Academy Students
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's):
Can't I just learn this on YouTube?
YouTube can be great, and there is some really helpful content on there. But, it is also pretty scattered - you get a little bit here, and a little bit there. It's nearly impossible to get a complete A to Z program that follows the seasonal developments. Also, you easily waste a lot of time just trying to search for something helpful and frequently end up empty handed.
Unfortunately, if you do happen to find something - some of the information can be misleading or flat out wrong. It's pretty surprising to see some of the "advice" out there that has good intentions but likely won't be helpful to put more fish in your boat.
Overall, it seems the vast majority of musky content on YouTube are highlights of someone catching a fish. While that can be really entertaining to watch...you don't get the information that will help you catch more fish. It's just entertainment! Musky academy is education!
I want to help you LEARN how to catch YOUR personal best musky, not just have you watch a highlight of someone else's fish.
What makes this different from other fishing universities/schools?
There are a couple main differences:
(i) All our material is online and available 24/7. You don't need to travel to a lodge or a seminar to get this information. You can do it from the comfort of your home.
(ii) This isn't a collection of random videos that you have to figure out. Each chapter, section and video has been carefully curated, filmed and organized to allow you to pick up the info you need right now. Starting your season mid-summer? Jump to that chapter. Looking to add a new musky rod to your line-up? Start with that video. Planning your summer vacation to trophy waters? We cover that in an easy and intuitive format.
(ii) Musky Academy isn't just videos. We have an active online group where you can see in detailed weekly fishing reports, ask advice about your home water and connect with other like-minded musky anglers. We have students ranging from other professional fisherman to weekend warriors to beginners who are all looking to improve.
Am I really going to be able to ask you questions?
Yes! As a part of your course enrollment, you will have access to our exclusive student Facebook group where you can ask me any question you want about the course, the industry or perhaps your home water.
Be sure to opt-in to emails so we can give you an personal invitation to our group!
I'm proud to say we have answered every question and normally are able to get back to students no later than 24-48 hrs. during peak guiding season.
How detailed are your fishing reports?
The fishing reports outlines my approach in terms of what I'm seeing that week from being out on the water everyday during the season. I walk through how I think about lake selection criteria, structure to focus on and lure presentations to catch a fish that week.
We've included an example on our homepage to give a sense of the detail I share each week. As I mentioned, this is our most popular feature that students love.
Many students are only able to fish a couple times over the season, and my goal is to help you to be successful as possible when you are on the water
Is this only for experienced musky anglers?
Definitely not. The information I provide is relevant no matter what level of musky angler you are. If you are just learning to fish for muskies or are a grizzled 30 year veteran of the sport....there is always ways to improve and become more successful. We have a very wide range of members from those looking to catch their first musky to experienced fishing guides and professional tournament fisherman. Whatever your goals are with musky fishing, I want to help you!
Is there going to be more content?
Yes, each year we are adding new content. We ask each year what members want to learn more about and create the content to build out the course. You can expect updates on the latest fishing equipment and techniques.
Can I download the videos to access them offline?
Yes! If you have ever downloaded a video on Netflix, the process is very similar. First, you will need to download the Teachable App. Once you have the app, use your login credentials and then you will be able to download chapters of the course to watch "offline" at your convenience.
How long will I have access to the course and the members only group?
You will have 12 months of access from the date of purchase to the videos & member only Facebook group.
Please be sure to opt-in to emails so we can send you a personal invite to join our Facebook group.
Returning members receive a $100 annual discount when they renew and we have over a 90% renewal rate as fisherman love having this information available at their fingertips!
The subscription will auto-renew for your convenience until you cancel in your account management page.
What if I don't like the course? Are there refunds?
Unfortunately, there are not any refunds once the course is started.
If you are unhappy with the course, I really hope you join our exclusive student Facebook group so I can answer any questions you have about musky fishing and provide value for you.
We have had hundreds of people join over the years and haven't yet had one complaint! We're very proud of the course and community offering we are providing.
